Sicamous originates from the Indian term meaning “narrow” or “squeezed in”, which is the narrows between the two lakes. The population is 3200 and is famous for its title as being the houseboat capital of Canada. Located only 10 minutes away is the new Hyde Mountain Golf Course which is a 6700 yard par 72 course with some of the most trying and scenic holes in the province. The area also boasts an abundance of winter sports including skiing and some of the best snowmobiling in the province only a short distance away.
